CHUCK BLEVINS & ASSOCIATES @ NEXPO'99 - BOOTH # 480

June 7, 1999 - Newspapers across the country can take advantage at NEXPO'99 to speak with one of the industry's well-known printing operations consultants, Chuck Blevins of Chuck Blevins & Associates, Inc.

The firm is exhibiting at Booth 480 where guests will have the opportunity to meet with Mr. Blevins to discuss various newspaper and printing operations topics. He will share his extensive knowledge in production and distribution operations, process and equipment analysis, as well as the latest systems control and re-engineering techniques and technology insight.

Chuck has more than 35 years experience in the industry. Over the last decade, he has provided consulting services that focuses on product and operations planning, operations efficiency and quality improvement, equipment selection, specifications and design layout, and operations and distribution consulting.

His career has led him to assume direction of various newspaper operations including Newsday, and Indianapolis Newspapers. As VP of Operations at Gannett, the programs and procedures that made USA TODAY the standard for quality worldwide were developed.

As chairman of NAA's Quality and Technical Committee, Chuck and his committee wrote and published "The Guide to Quality Newspaper Reproduction," the industry's first quality manual. Chuck has been listed in Who's Who in America since the early '80s, is program chairperson for ING and is a judge for the Annual RIT/USA Today Quality Cup Awards. Recently he was quoted in USA Today for selecting the winner for manufacturing. "…the Lear team players were determined not to waste any of the company's money, like it was their personal company."

Recent assignments have included working with the Los Angeles Times, The Miami Herald, the Salt Lake Tribune, Dayton Daily News and Pioneer Newspaper Group. Some of these services have included on-site operation evaluations, facilitating discussions on new press commissioning, assisting in equipment selection and design layout, and product and operational planning.
